iGaming affiliate glossary
The terms in every casino and sportsbook affiliate deal and report, defined plainly.
Affiliate platform
The software an affiliate program runs on, such as MyAffiliates, Income Access or NetRefer. One platform runs many programs, so a stats tracker that supports a platform can usually collect from the programs built on it.
Platforms AffCollect supportsAffiliate program
An operator's scheme for paying the affiliates who refer players to its casino or sportsbook brands. Each program has its own login, its own reports and its own deals.
Affiliate stats tracker
Software that signs in to your affiliate programs and collects clicks, registrations, FTDs and commission into one dashboard, so nobody logs in to each program by hand. AffCollect is one.
Commission reconciliation
Checking the commission a program reports, and later pays, against what your deal says you are owed, then chasing the difference. AffCollect's auto-verifier does the checking every night and flags only the rows that disagree.
How verification worksCPA (cost per acquisition)
A one-off payment for each referred player who meets the program's qualifying conditions, typically a first deposit above a set amount and sometimes a wagering requirement.
Deal change
A program changing the terms of an existing deal: the CPA amount, the RevShare percentage, the qualifying baseline or the deductions. Programs do not always announce it, which is why AffCollect compares deal terms every night and alerts you when they move.
EPC (earnings per click)
Commission earned divided by the clicks that produced it. Comparing EPC by page, market and brand shows which placements actually pay, rather than which ones only send traffic.
Google Analytics integrationFlat fee
A fixed payment for a placement or listing, such as a monthly fee for a top position, paid regardless of how many players it brings in.
FTD (first-time depositor)
A referred player who makes their first deposit. FTDs are the main volume metric in casino and sportsbook affiliate reporting.
GGR (gross gaming revenue)
What players staked minus what they won back, before any bonuses, fees or taxes are deducted.
Hybrid deal
A deal that pays a CPA for each qualifying player and a RevShare percentage on the same players, usually lower than a pure RevShare rate.
Negative carryover
When players win more than they lose in a month, NGR goes negative. With negative carryover, that balance follows the account into the next months and is paid down from future revenue before you earn RevShare again; without it, the balance resets to zero each month.
NGR (net gaming revenue)
GGR minus the deductions a program lists in its terms, such as bonuses, payment fees, chargebacks, gaming taxes and admin fees. RevShare is usually calculated on NGR, so how a program defines it decides what you are paid.
Qualified FTD
An FTD that meets the program's CPA conditions, the baseline, such as a minimum deposit or wagering amount. Only qualified FTDs earn the CPA.
Sub-affiliate
An affiliate you referred to a program. In return, the program pays you a share of what that affiliate earns, usually a small percentage of their commission.
